Wheelchair Porch Lifts in Mechanicsburg and Camp Hill, PA

Mechanicsburg and Camp Hill are the West Shore's established, older suburbs: Upper Allen and Hampden each have more than 5,000 residents over 65, Camp Hill borough is nearly one in five, and most of those households own a two-story home with a porch, a deck, or a garage a few steps below the kitchen. A deck lift or a garage wheelchair lift is how many of them stay put, and we are twenty minutes away in Etters.

Porches, decks, and garages on the West Shore

Camp Hill's brick colonials near Market Street and Cedar Cliff have a front porch of four to six steps and a yard too small for the 30 foot ramp the ADA slope would need. Mechanicsburg borough's older homes along Main Street are the same. Upper Allen's Winding Hills and Hampden's Good Hope neighborhoods are 1980s and later two-stories with a raised deck off the kitchen and an attached garage three or four steps below the main floor, where a lift inside the garage is dry, out of sight, and usually needs no new pad. Silver Spring Township's newer homes and the 55+ communities along the Carlisle Pike add split entries. In every case a vertical platform lift takes about 5 by 6 feet and rises straight to the door.

Holy Spirit, UPMC West Shore, and the Hampden Medical Center are all within minutes, and a lift drawing at the first visit lets the pad and circuit start before a discharge. The Mechanicsburg stairlift page and Camp Hill elevator page cover the inside of the house.

Why the West Shore chooses us for a platform lift

  • Twenty minutes away

Visits, installs, and service on the West Shore are short drives from Etters. The crew that installs it services it.

  • Garage lifts first when the garage is attached

Dry, out of sight, car to kitchen, often no new pad. We recommend it before an outdoor lift when it fits.

  • Ramp or lift, priced honestly

Under about 30 inches of rise we price the ramp. Above that, the lift saves the yard and the view.

What a porch lift costs on the West Shore

Where the lift goes decides the budget more than the brand. A Camp Hill front porch means an outdoor lift on a new pad, sometimes with an enclosure for the look of the street, and that is the upper end. A Hampden or Upper Allen garage means a short-rise open Multilift on the existing slab with a circuit as the only site work, and that is the lower end. The written quote, within 24 hours of a free visit, lists the lift, the gates, and any site work on separate lines. Residential lifts need no state permit in Pennsylvania; the borough or township may require a building permit for an outdoor pad, and we handle it. Financing is available. Under about 30 inches of rise a modular ramp is usually the lower cost answer, and the West Shore ramp page covers it. Brackets are in the FAQ, and the vertical platform lift cost post explains the factors.

Platform lifts in Mechanicsburg: common questions

How much does a wheelchair lift cost in Mechanicsburg?

In the low to mid five figures installed for most homes. Rise, open versus enclosed, and gates set where yours falls, and a garage lift usually avoids the pad entirely. The written quote separates the lift from the site work.

Can a lift go in the garage of an Upper Allen colonial?

Yes, and when the garage is attached it is the first thing we look at. The Multilift stands on the existing slab, rises the three or four steps to the door into the house, and a gate at the top landing keeps the doorway safe.

Can a platform lift serve a deck in Hampden Township?

Yes. The lift stands on a small pad beside the deck and a gate opens at deck level, so the rider rolls straight onto the boards. If the deck is high or exposed, an enclosed V-1504 keeps the weather off.

Does a porch lift need a concrete pad?

Outdoors, usually a level reinforced pad about 4 inches thick; the Multilift tower is self-supporting on it. In a garage the existing slab is usually enough. We give you the drawing.

Do I need a permit for a home wheelchair lift in Camp Hill?

Not a state permit; residential lifts are exempt in Pennsylvania. The borough or township may require a building permit for an outdoor pad, and we handle it.
